Garden Room with Canopy

Having considered moving house but unable to find a property that they liked, the Parker family decided to extend their home instead. As part of the renovation they added a bespoke garden room with a canopy and hot tub area to create flexible additional living space for the whole family.

The Parker family had been considering moving house but struggled to find a property that had everything they were looking for. Rather than move, they decided to extend their current home, something we are seeing increasingly often as homeowners look to improve rather than move especially when there are things they love or value about their house already.

As part of the wider project, the family wanted to create additional space away from the main house. They were also planning to install a hot tub and wanted a decked area with a canopy to create a comfortable outdoor space that could be enjoyed throughout the year.

Working alongside the family's extension plans, we designed and installed a bespoke garden room together with a covered decking area, creating a versatile, modern space that complements both the house and garden.

The finished project

The garden room is 4m x 2.7m and has a 3.5m canopy and matching composite decking, which has been installed around the 4m² hot tub.

Externally, the building has two different types of cladding; maintenance free Misty Wood composite slatted cladding has been used on the front and left-hand side, with Anthracite Hardie® Plank cladding on the back and right-hand side. Anthracite uPVC windows and doors complete the exterior.

The two sliding doors meet at the corner of the building, creating an impressive, glazed corner that maximises natural light and strengthens the connection between the room, decking and surrounding garden.

"What we love most is the flexibility. It works perfectly for our family now and can easily adapt as our needs change in the future."
