Our clients in Rochdale recently downsized and needed a dedicated space to continue their passion for painting while gaining an extra room at home. We designed a beautiful garden room in Rochdale to give them the perfect space for their hobbies, providing a light, warm, and comfortable place to paint and relax without losing garden space.
BEFORE AND AFTER...
Their garden had a noticeable slope, so we designed a raised concrete base to create a level platform for the garden room, adding a recessed decking step to seamlessly bridge the difference between the ground and the garden room floor level.
The finished garden room measures 5.5m x 2.4m, expanding to 3m deep in an L-shaped corner layout, providing 14.9m² of bright, usable space. We used low-maintenance Monterey Taupe Hardie Plank cladding on the front and sides with anthracite at the base and anthracite UPVC doors and window.
Inside, the room is designed to have space for a desk and art supplies storage units with two comfy chairs.
The art studio has a plain, seamless ceiling, clean white walls and light chestnut laminate flooring. To ensure year-round comfort, we installed underfloor heating with a wired thermostat—perfect for chilly mornings spent painting.
The garden room sits neatly in the corner of their garden, offering a warm, inspiring place to create art in the comfort of home.
“We've had so many compliments about the room from friends and neighbours. We're really pleased.” – John
John also left us this 5-star Trustpilot review:
“Absolutely delighted with our garden room from these guys. From the initial web enquiry, conversations with Mark, then a site visit through to the highly efficient installation I cannot fault anything. A great team of lads rocked up and had the room up in 4 days with smooth efficiency then finished off beautifully by Chris the decorator.”

This art studio wasn’t an off-the-shelf design—it was built to match exactly what John wanted, proving that when it comes to creating the perfect garden room, one size doesn’t fit all.
